frequently asked questions

Will you be serving any Sufganiyot or Latkes? Sorry, but no. Our kitchen isn’t set up with an appropriate ansul system and we are not able to fry anything.

Are you [insert allergen] friendly? Our kitchen will not be free of any known food allergens. While all efforts will be made to prevent cross-contamination, we absolutely cannot make any guarantees.

Are you Kosher certified? Sorry, but we are not a Kosher certified bakery.

What about Pareve? No, sorry.

How can you call yourself a Jewish bakery but not be 100% kosher or pareve? Well, we said from day one that we’re a Jew~ish bakery. This bakery is an extension of ourselves and since we do not adhere to strict dietary guidelines - like many other Jewish folks - we are not making those dietary guidelines a priority in our business.

Will you be doing any bread baking? Aside from some basics like Challah, Simit, and Jerusalem Bagel, we will not be focusing on breads, rather, we’ll be pastry-focused as that’s our specialty. Bread baking is a whole operation that we’re honestly not setup or trained for.

Do you offer vegan or gluten-free? These specialties are not our primary focus, but our Jerusalem Bagel + Simit are both vegan, and when available, we offer the following items made without gluten-containing ingredients: Chocolate Chip Cookies, Brownies, Banana Bread, Honey Bread, and Coconut Macarons. Please note that we are not a gluten-free facility and given the small size of our kitchen, we cannot guarantee the prevention of cross-contamination.

Do you offer delivery? Sorry, but we do not have the capacity to offer delivery services at this time.

Do you have any seating? We have some seating along the front window of our shop, and standing room around the center table, so feel free to enjoy your coffee + baked goods inside! We also have 3 tables outside along the sidewalk.

Do you have a public bathroom? We do not, sorry! In order to streamline our buildout, minimize the need for more trenching, and deal with more headaches involving the city building inspector, we decided to utilize the plumbing/placement of the bathroom prior to our buildout. See here. Our only bathroom is located in our back of house and only employees are allowed in that area for safety (high slip and fall risk) as well as workers compensation + insurance purposes.

Are you handicap accessible? We are!

Are you pet friendly? Only service animals are allowed. Sorry, but emotional support animals are not as they have not been trained to perform a specific job or task and do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.

Can we do a collaboration? Collaborations must be food-focused to be considered. For any beer collaboration related inquiries, please note that our official partner is Long Live Beerworks, though we are always open to doing a pop-up at other breweries.

Why haven’t you responded to my Instagram or Facebook messages? Most Instagram DMs end up in requests which we don’t check, and we also don’t check our Facebook messages which is why we’ve set up an auto responder that links to our contact form - sorry! Please use our Contact Form to get in touch!

What is your phone number? We don’t have one. Feel free to use our Contact Form.

Will you donate to [insert cause here]? We are dedicated to making a positive impact on the community that our bakery resides in, and our philanthropic efforts are focused solely on the Mount Hope Community Center and the Mount Hope Learning Center, as well as a small number of organizations that align most with our values. We will not do a donation based on the perceived value of the marketing and/or advertising benefits that come along with it. We get a lot of requests per day, so please don’t be offended if we don’t respond.

Can we film a segment at your shop? To be considered you have to be fully licensed + insured as a production/film company with the ability to provide us with a certificate of insurance naming us as an additional insured. Please use our Contact Form so we can discuss the details of the segment.

I’m an influencer, can we work together? We respect what you do - and keep doing your thing - but we don’t really do these types of engagements as we prefer to grow our audiences organically.

I don’t like the way you do [insert pastry here]: As the great philosopher Fred Durst once said, “I’ma do things my way, it’s my way. My way or the highway.”
